Convert PDF To DOC, Text & Several Image Formats

Many times we need some PDF manipulation tools to convert PDF to Word, text or any other file format. I have also posted some PDF converter tools in this blog. This time, i am going to post about a nice PDF manipulation tool, First PDF. This is a free windows application that allows users to convert any PDF document to DOC, text or different image formats, namely PNG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP, GIF and Multi TIFF.

The output file formats are grouped and also shows preview before conversion. It has two tabs. One is PDF to Word and other is PDF to Imaegs. To perform PDF to DOC conversion, select Word option inside the PDF to Word tab, and then drag the files that you want to convert over the List with PDF files section. You will find it at the left side of the tool window. It will also provide you with a preview of the selected file. Now, click Browse to select your output directory as well as output file name, and click GO button to start the conversion process.

Similar process can be applied to convert PDF to any image format, but on the other tab.

This is really a nice tool but it takes time in conversion. If you are converting a high quality PDF file with many pages, it takes enough time to convert the PDF.

system requirements for PDF To WORD Converter?

Add Applications to Firewall Blocklist via Drag and Drop With Firewall App Blocker

Windows Firewall is a special security feature of windows operating system which allow users to create packet filtering and protect system from malicious external resurces. Main function of windows firewall is restrict applications from sending or receiving unauthorize requests.

But this feature is usually ignored by users as it is hard to properly configure. Most of the users do not know what this feature do and how to use it. In windows 7, you can block a program in Firewall by following these steps:

1. Click the Windows orb and open the Control Panel
2. Select System and Security
3. In the Windows Firewall section, select Allow a program through Windows Firewall
4. If the program you wish to block or unblock is not listed, you can click the Allow another program… button to add it.

I do not think that these steps are userfriendly.

But There is a tool called, Firewall App Blocker which allows users to add and remove application to Windows firewall block list just by drag and drop. This process is not only user-friendly, it also takes less time to manage block programs. When you want to block a program, drag this to the main interface of the tool. To unblock the program, select and delete.

The Advanced button brings up the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security window that allows you to apply Firewall policies and helps you configure Inbound Rules and Outbound Rules.

One more think to note that this tool does not provide any extra layer of security. It only allow users to access windows Firewall options easily.

Yahoo enters browser market with Axis browser

Yahoo has also jumped into the browser's market with its new mobile browser Axis. This mobile browser is available for iPhone and iPad from Apple App Store. For desktops, it is available as a plug-in for IE, Safari, Chrome and Firefox.

According to Ethan Batraski, head of product for the Search Innovation Group at Yahoo, this mobile browser is not only a browser. It is a seach tool with in-built browser. This search tool is different from the search engine. It does not shows the results in the form of links. When you will search something with this, 80 perecent of time you will 80 percent of time, you will see horizontal display of Web page thumbnails. Other 20 percent of time  you get text boxes with results in them. By showing results in the form of thumbnails, it aims to improve user experience and make the surfing fast.

This browser also took social sharing seriously and added a feature to share web pages with friends. Users can share any web page with their friends on Twitter, email or Pinterest. But there is no option to share pages on Facebook which seems something srange with the browser.
This time the browser is only available for iOS platform, but company is working on Android, windows phone and metro version of the browser. Metro version of the browser will be used in the windows phone 8 mobile operating system.

Mobile browser is not a new concept, but the way it is trying to change the search is different step in the search market. This new concept makes it a strong mobile product with new concept of search.
