Whenever someone talks about controlling a system from remote location, only one name comes in our mind. That name is Teamweaver. But in this post, I will show you how you can share your computer and access a remote computer in the same way as you do in Teamweaver, without the use of any software. This is possible with your Google Chrome browser.

There is a nice Google Chrome app which allows users to control a remote system. This app is called Chrome Remote Desktop BETA. This app allows user to share desktop with a friend on internet. Once installed, it asks for permission to access your computer. Allow access for everything it asks. Don't be afraid, it’s safe.

Now it will take you to a new screen from where you can either share your desktop or view other person's desktop.

If you want to share your computer with other person, click on "Share now" button. Other person must have installed this extension in his/her computer. When you click on "Share Now" button, it will give you a 12 digit code. Send this code to other person on chat or via email.

On other end, he has to click on "Access Now" button in place of "Share now" and then enter the access code. Then press connect button. After few seconds, your computer will be accessible from the remote computer. And it will show you a notification "Your desktop is currently being shared with email."

Each remote connection is secure so you do not need to care about the security.

Chrome Remote Desktop BETA is fully cross-platform app, so you can connect any two computers that have a Chrome browser, including Windows, Linux, Mac and Chromebooks.   The only thing you need is a Google Chrome browser with this Chrome Remote Desktop.
The best use of this app is remote IT helpdesk. The helpdesk can use the Chrome Remote Desktop BETA to help another user, while conversely a user can receive help by setting up a sharing session without leaving their desk.
