After long rumors, Google's cloud storage service Google Drive is finally available. Every one interested in cloud storage service was waiting for this service. Google Drive is available with the integration of Google Docs. This will allow users to access their documents and files stored on the Google Drive to access from anywhere.

Now users do need to worry about hardware failure. They are independent from the device.  No matter what happens to your devices, your files are safely stored in Google Drive.

This service is available for PC, Mac and Android devices. It will be available for iPhone and iPad soon.

Google Drive lets you do more than just store your files. Share files with exactly who you want and edit them together, from any device. Users can now work with other users and edit a document in real-time which will reflect to other user. Google Drive also allows users to tag any files at the time of uploading. This tagging will allow users to search for a file easily. Suppose you have uploaded some birthday pic. Then add this with the tag birthday. Whenever you will search for any birthday pic, this pic will be in the search results.

This service also comes with advance OCR (Optical Character Recognition) which can easily search for the text in images and scanned PDF files. So you can easily search for some text in the scanned form of the book. This is really an advantage of this cloud storage which comes with Google Docs technology. His is really much needed feature as we all need to work on scanned documents sometimes.

This service gives 5 GB free space. You can choose to upgrade to 25GB for $2.49/month, 100GB for $4.99/month or 1TB for $49.99/month. When you upgrade to a paid account, your Gmail account storage also expands to 25GB.
