Google Chrome for Android gets update, now support desktop view and more

Google as just pushed an update to Google Chrome for Android beta which was launched back in February. Now Google has added support for 31 more languages to the app. This new updated app is now available in all those countries where Google Play Store is available.


The main feature added in this app is the support for Desktop mode. This new feature allow users to request for the full desktop version of the website in case they are not interesed in viewing mobile version.


Google has added these important feature in this app.

  • You can now request the desktop version of a website, in case you would rather not view the mobile version.
  • You can now add bookmarks as shortcuts on your home screen, so you can get to your favorite sites faster.
  • Choose your favorite apps to handle links opened in Chrome.
  • Have a proxy setup for Wi-Fi access? You can now use Chrome with the system proxy configured in Android settings.
This new version of the Chrome also lets users to download file to their android  device and enable old-style YouTube embed content to be played via native YouTube app

This new updated Chrome for Android beta app is available to download from Google Play store and is compatible to all Android device running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and up.
