Google has just rolled out a new update to Google docs which brings new comment system and optical character recognition technology. Google has also added some other small features.
Google has added all comments at one place to make it easier to see the log of all the comments that have been made whether you’re using drawings, documents, or presentations. Now its easy to reply on a comment with the comment button on the upper right corner of the editor. Use this button to see all the comments and add a comment.

Google has also added its improved character recognition technology to Google Docs. So Google Docs can now search texts inside an image or in a scanned document and PDF files. This is really a nice feature which brings power to Google docs.
Some other feature includes custom javascript and Css support. Now you can see full name in comments and documents in the place of email address. It has also added keyboard support to navigating between table cells in documents.

I really don't understand how much will that benefit us.I feel there are many other issues which are to be sorted out by Google, like accessing transient data. Well, i found some tools which can probably workbetter than Google docs. tools such as Smartsheet and CollateBox http://www.collatebox.com/ have a look at these and share ur thoughts about some similar tools.
