Google talk has a white plain skin whick looks simple. If you want ao add some spicy look in your gtalk, you can customize its look with themse.

Steps to install downloaded Gtalk skins of your choice :
1) Get latest version of google talk.
2) Move to the folder :
For XP:
C:/Documents and Settings/username/Local Settings/Application Data/Google/Google Talk/themes/user/chat/
For Vista :
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Google\Google Talk\themes
3) Extract the downloaded theme in above mentioned folder
4) Activate the theme from settings > Appearance.
